These shootings took place on I-96 between Perry in Ingham County and Farmington which is Oakland County. These places aren’t in Detroit, they’re not even in the same county as Detroit.
If you want to be ashamed of something, be ashamed of your own ignorance.
Also, you were born and raised in Detroit? I say no, no you weren’t.
Why I’m sorta ashamed to be from Detroit, cause shit like this happens

This is the typical oversimplification. Disinvestment is much more complicated.
Dave commented on the prior story about Detroit and I thought it was worthy of its own post…
If you thought the riots of ‘67 were bad this would completely drive businesses out forever. Cops not getting paid to protect and serve? It’d be mayhem.
In fact I ran into an old man at my city’s…
If there were only a way to hide boy-band fever from the #Detroit tag.

Historically speaking this city knows as much about making garage rock as Henry Ford knew about makin’ cars. And where our legends paved the route, contemporaries have picked up the torch and blazed through, one broken guitar string at a time, dive bar by dive bar; the Detroit legacy lives on. And this mix truly comes from Detroit; I’m not just talking location.
As is Detroit’s modus operandi, the creation of this playlist became a collective project, as to which I could never take full credit. Roughs were mastered and rushed from Tubor studios, bands consulted each other as to what track to submit, album art went from its draft stages to final polished projects, and the intensely personal (and comical) cover art for the mix was penned.
Why all this team work? Well it was twofold: for the love of our city and the creative enterprises we sustain here. There is something similar about the concept of GET BENT and what we do here in Detroit; it’s all grassroots, by-us-for-us, and all fueled by the love of rock and roll. And there is nothing more beautiful than seeing everyone rally together for what brought us together and keeps us together.
Featuring tracks all recorded within the past year, pop open a cold one, set that speaker volume to max, and get ready to hear Rock City’s rabble.
